Support Groups
The Pride Center of Staten Island’s support groups foster a space for peer support, social interaction, community, personal development, and joy. All groups are facilitated by clinical staff and are FREE of charge.
Transcendence
Definition: going beyond ordinary limits; surpassing; exceeding.
This group happens every Saturday, 3-4:30 pm, and is held both virtually and in-person.

Families in Transition
A support group designed for parents and loved-ones of transgender and gender-expansive.
individuals open to ages 17+.
This group meets bi-weekly, every other Thursday, from 7-8 pm. This group meets virtually and in-person.

G-Spec
G-Spec is a support and discussion group specifically created for transgender and
gender-expansive youth between the ages of 13-17. It’s a great place to make friends with trans and
gender-expansive peers, have fun, and get to know yourself better.
This group meets in-person every Saturday from 2-3 pm.

Pride U: Momentum
Momentum is a multi-session HIV/STI prevention-based educational group. For ages 18+.
Pride U hosts Momentum on Thursday night’s for gay men to discuss topics left out of your high school health class. Topping, bottoming, and everything in between – oh my!
Momentum focuses on educating gay, bisexual, and trans individuals about queer sex and building an empowering, affirming environment to do so.
You will gain a better understanding and deeper connection with your sexual health!

Close-Knit Community
A group for LGBTQ+ individuals to help foster mindfulness and grounding through the art of fiber works.
Ages 13+ welcome. Yarn, needles, and instruction provided. BEGINNERS WELCOME!
